the completion of the 10k dissertation, one whole year project which i'm not v pleased with the result. But, the journey had been really fun.

Graduation. srsly, shld have paid more attention in class last time. then i would have feel smarter now.

Working Life which took up nearly half of 2011 and brought 3kg onto me.

2012, looking forward.

altered a bit of my goals

and now i've a 1 year, 3 year and 5 years goal.

10th week into work.

1 week more than the internship period of 9weeks

srsly, shld stop having the internship moood.

the current site situation is very much like a desert.

macham like a mini sandstorm too.

can see the sand dancing

and the layers of sand on the windscreen and window of those cars parked at the site.

im also very much risking my life just to go to the toilet.

esp when im not insured under co. yet.

once, the toilet was shaking when i was still using it!

and another time i had to run to the toilet just in case something drop on me.

shld start wearing my helmet, vest and boots to the toilet.

apart from those situation outside the office, im still very much happy with many things.

Many free treats is one.

Super funny manager i have.

(i cld still smile whenever i reminsce his jokes! wahahah)

Super bloody nice senior i have.

A chat-able neighbour i have.

really thankful for all those.

and yes, i am also eager to see the whole project takes its shape.

thoroughly disappointed with myself after my 1st interview. yes, people can make mistakes. but please, one shldn't make the same mistake twice.

coming up with reasons for your mistake does not help.

i do think i have a high expectation of myself. but still, i think i've learnt smth throughout this interview and i hope i'm not too afraid of the coming interviews.

but first, i need to get my basic knowledge right.

next, its regarding project works.

Datelines are often spelled as deadlines for a reason.

so, i strongly believe in meeting the deadlines.

if u cant meet the deadline, then inform earlier or at least apologise for it.

becoz there might be someone out there keep refreshing the ivle page waiting for your work.

the reason why im facing this right now is because i have really nice course mates throughout the first 3 uni years.

2010 was good goood goood!
hopefully 2011 will be much much better!!
but then i always think that life will never be a smooth-sailing journey.
i once heard that if everything was smooth-sailing for you, you must be on the wrong lane.
i always feel that when u got smth good, smth bad gona happen

i spent quite some time recapping on what exactly happen in 2010.
and there was one goood piece of news! hhaha
nobody was admitted to the hospital!
uncle, both grannys are very very healthy!
i rmbed 2009 was very bad coz all 3 of them got admitted in.
and no one left the world too.!

there's even additional 2 members to the big family!

also, managed to spend more time with granny.
eh, i think i spend more time with the little brat there instead.
but at least mom spend more time with her mom.

also spend more time with 小丁当.
ever since she got demoted to a housewife, she got a lot of time to ka jiao me.
600 too, with the occasional 兜风-ing and being the part-time deliveryman.

but i had lesser time with my lovely sister ever since she started working in may.
had only visited her once at her workplace..
i'm going to go disturb her at the new one sooon!

and brother, i've only seen him for 1month plus this whole year!
though webcam was good too...
but i still very much wanted him to come back sg so that i have one more person to argue with and more fats for me to laugh at.

next year will be the year i graduate.

whenever i saw the mudddy and dusty site, i asked myself whether i really want to work there.
i had many chances of going to sites from the 兜风-ing with 600, and the dust there is macham like sandstorm. and the food, u dun need to think twice about eating it, just have to bring ur own food.
hai, maybe i stil doesnt really know what i want.
and dunno how to survive in that industry with the very very minimal knowledge of mine.
but i must stay in the industry for a few years no matter what! if not the degree will be so so useless.
mybe if i really got into a contractor firm,i shall justpray hard that the site i got will not be ulu and will have many nice foodcourts around!

when i was at that site, apart from the nice nice scenery, the prettiest thing is the waterfall thingy which was not even activated then. =.=

even though it was not a very iconic building, it is currently the tallest building in sg. as of july/august 2010. exceeding the original height limit of 280m.

lit review 真的很难写.

the sources of info was confusing and messy.
my scope of work was shaky.
the plan to carry out field measurement was uncertain also.
yea, field measurement. sounds so exciting yet intimidating. =.=

anw i finally broke the 1k mark after 3 months.
still got 9k more to chunk out within 5 months.
i think the whole journey of writing would flow once i gather some results, then can crap alr.
so lonely. doing this alone, no group mates ~~for me to ride on~~ to share the burden with. hahaha

i shall look forward to an exciting journey ahead... with prof. =.=

ended the long 9weeks!
very thankful for the opportunity
to be attached to this company
and to the building side.
yes, i see and measure more than just concrete, formwork, rebars.
hehe

the exposure to 3 different sites was excellent also.
giving me views of SG, views of sub-urban SG, and small view of JB?
giving me views of steel structure works, foundation works, and finishing works stages.

but
walking on rebars was still a prob.
but it got better as long as i stay firm. 勇敢地踏下去！

staircase was another prob.
going up the temporary staircase was fine,
but going down is scary.
when the thread length was shorter than the length of my boots.
catladder also.
esp temporary ones.
my legs were so so jelly when i finally reached the ground.
没有用！

working with the jap was also a prob.
but this is what we called cultural exchange mah! lol
although i complained that there bound to be a lot of miscommunication,
i realised that this can happen in many other companies too.
coz the team will sure made up of many different nationalities.

exposure to the smokess is one thing i need to tahan, i guess.
but im v glad that some of them had quit smoking. =)))

would rmb the advices that they gave.

虽然有些时候真的不知道他们在说什么，还笨笨的猛点头。。。
虽然问他们一些问题，他们的回答也是让我一头雾水，还照样地点头。。
虽然其中一位给的讲课让我真的很想很想睡觉。。(这不是他的错，是吃饱后的错。）
可是我还是看得出他们的用心， from the very first day. =))

not just the jap, the whole site pple was very nice, and fun-loving.
the occasional playing/fooling ard in the office,
and the frequently heard laughters
should be the right office SOP!
and not each person doing their work silently..

oh and the office layout is one tt i quite like.
site #1 was tooo cramped.
site #2 was tooo spacious.
site #3 just nice.
even have a first aid room with a bed inside.
though not very tempting. haha
and they have 4 grandfather clocks around.
which 叫 every 15 mins.
so that we wont miss our lunch, tea break and 下班！
=))

really learned a lot at this site.
afterall, we were exposed to many many different departments,
we ought to learn more than other sites.
hahah

and while bidding goodbye to the security guard.
Security guard: so how? learn everything?
me: no, we still have a lot to learn!.
which is very very true!.

coz the previous site had told us going there is like gg prison.
no food and drink, and have to climb up flights of stairrrsssss.

truly fortunate to be part of this project. hahaha =))
maybe not getting to the civil team is a blessing in disguise!
although i still v much wanted to go to the mrt site.. and maybe the expressway.
but heard from the civil team, things weren't that good at their side.

so i shld be happy with my choice bah! =))
and this site is located at raffles place area.
im loving that place! hahaha
there's good food around(the hot and spicy curry chicken, and western grilled fish oooh), and i can always get drinks, bubble tea anytime i want.
and i always get a seat on the train to and fro somemore!
yala, i'm one of those that stand at the platform at yishun and rush forward when the empty train comes. hahaha
but sadly, im those who couldnt really zzz on trains.
so the train ride to work was super lonnngggg.
but back home was fast, i dunno why. hahaha

the good thing about the work at the site office.
- we were visible.
- they were really willing to teach and the people there were really nice, not much of attitude problem kind.
- dpm was really keen on giving what we wanted to learn.
- my work was taken seriously.
- get to go up the viewing gallery many times!
- was given a seat in the room (the only room apart from meeting room).. hehehe. and so best thing is, nobody can see my lappy, except my partner.

the not-so-good thing:
- maybe is the location of the office? it was located on the rooftop, so have to walk pass the m&e services to get to office, and if it rains, then suay lo. but it didn't really rain heavily when i was there. and my seat was, i think, on top of some m&e services also, coz the floor wld suddenly vibrate..
- the super cramped office. have to go zig zag zig zag before i get to my room. 我还一度觉得腰痛。
- have to bring own lappy. =.=

after a near 5mth hiatus! came in,and saw some of my drafts, and i have 2 drafts with title, yet nth inside! have long forgotten what i wanted to write in that 2 drafts.

anw, started on internship! =))
and i think my worst worst 缺点(or is it only one? lol) is being forgetful!

monday - start work, forgot to bring socks along, but then this is okay.
tuesday - forgot to bring phone(!), calculator. and doing measurement, forgot about formwork.!
wed - forgot to bring mouse
thurs onwards - i forgot what i forgot to bring.

so for the past 1 week, was at the headquarter.
and i realised hw much i missed working at my old workplace 3 years ago.
the whole atmosphere is very different, it was not lively at the hq, was super quiet when everyone is doing their work, then lunchtime, offwork, people just went off silently. =.=
the sitting arrangement was also different, here is super open door concept, as in there's only one room for the big shot. and other GMs sit together with the fellow managers. nearly everyone can see my comp, and my in-charge is sitting on my left , another in-charge right in front of me, another in-charge on my right. 前,左右围攻! so scary, and so i ended up seeking refuge at the other interns everytime i feel bored or feel sleepy.

and i guess we actually missed out on many site visits for the first week. the task that was given to us for the one week was not what we really wanted. though it was something we din really learn in sch. but nvm, one week only. for the rest of 8 weeks, its site time! =)))

First day wore heels and stand for over 10hours. Paste 4 plasters on my feet.
Second day I was smarter, change to flats. But still the friction continues.
First session was good! Chao gan dong de.
Can really imagine how the grads feel.
Subsequent session not so gan dong alr.
All I wanted to do was sweep the balloons to one side, usher them out, sit down, do survey, go home.
Surveying was like not easy.
Was assigned to survey the grads, but all they wana do is snap snap snap pics, which is I would do also.
Then third day I surveyed the guests!
Hahahaha
It was so much easier than grads one!
Xian ku hou tian. =)))

And i particularly like the valedictorian speech part.
one person cried while reading out her speech.
awww chao gan dong.
I think the best one came from arts, and maybe medicine.
learnt a lot from them. Like Be Dumb.
And "If you cant convince, confuse!"
i am going to stick to this 2 quotes. hahaha!

The balloon drops were great also.
Even though i find it a real pity that those sitting at the side din manage to get the balloons.
And they were mostly the doctors, phds, masters pple.

this year is so happening!

happening #1
granny had a fall on the day before cny,
so the adults decided not to tell her we are gg down for cny,
coz if she knows, she would prepare the foods and stuffs despite her injured arms.
so we decided not to tell her.

so each family cooked some food to bring there.

then my uncle came to fetch us (those living in ys and amk) in his mini bus!!
it was fully filled la!
so exciting coz they bring food, new year goodies, paper cups, plate, paper utensils and drinks etc etc!
like gg to the zoo or picnic lidat!!

so it was a SURPRISE CNY!!
obviously granny is happy to see us!!
although we juz had a famly gathering one week ago, for my youngggest cousin full mth.

and this year, the house got so much more cramped...
like 40 plus people in the 3room flat,
with 5 babies/toddlers/infant.
coz its so crowded and jammed and no fresh air, i got headache and went to vomit quietly..

it started with the rain.
I'm a 雨神,
becoz when im outdoor, it starts to pour
and then when i finally finallly reach my destination, it either stop or drizzle only.
this "theory" was sort of proven last sat and sun,
and further proven today ! twice somemore.
Total = 5 or more times.

and then
i bought and ate a fake ramly burger.
okay, i dun really count this as suay.
coz everyone who queue, buy, eat the same tasteless thing as me!

fyi, i dun really complain much for food.

after 5 days of work!
totall of around 6000 pple matriculated.

i cant believe laa.

helping out in the regiistrationn fair for the school.
was manning the counter to help them get register and help collect their forms, making sure that they handed in their forms etc
it was reallly an interesting one la yet a bit montone.

its interesting because i get to meet all kinds of people!!!

i get to talk to all kinds of people also! SC, PR, international student la.
so fun ! =)))
and i tio-ed a lot of international students at my counter!
im kinda scared that they dun really understand me, but still keep nodding their head.
coz im always lidat, tend to nod my head even though i dunreally understand what the person is saying.

then after that went to the hosp to see my grandma i.e my mom's mom.

everyday i go, i see her there!
and she is just my grandma's daughter-in-law.

and she plus my other aunt also look after the tenant.

imagine i only know my father(who left halfway thru), 2 uncles, 1 uncle's wife.
that is 4 people
out of the whole table of 9
(4/9 is okay, because i once knew one person out of 10 pple, and the one person is my sis.)

an update --> If u want to know

still in the midst of chionging the old dramas
so those in queue pls be patient okay.
afterall, i had temporarily stopped watching all the youtube drama since jan 08
only resumed after exams.
so its really difficult to like continue now.
i finished exams on the 6th, but only resume my old drama on like ytd or the day before.

so have to start with those HAHAHAHAAAAA variety shows!

was very very lost.
i was honeymooning for the first 4 weeks, waiting for cny.
then cny came and gone, then i was waiting for midsembreak

so i spent the first 6 weeks waiting and waiting.
and then chiong chiong chiong for reports,essays, presentations?

i like chionging reports leh.
esp when u do it with close people.

and yes,
now then i know im a stupid perfectionist la.
checking and editing it until like 3am.

i think i might just re-check everything again ah.
luckily is no time alr.

took like 3 or 4 wrong internal buses.
sem1 dunno the routes still okay.
sem2 last day liao, still hear the uncle say 最后一站了, and we suay suay sit just behind the driver only. so had to get off and cross opposite. then we saw the same uncle again! hahahaa.
so we hopped on back to the same bus, and tell him where we wana go.

last week was hiong as usual

hahaa, but i think its fun..

was sleeping at/after 2am mostly
so my body is like totally spolit or so
coz i heard that one shld be sleeping from 10pm, as 10pm to 2am is the time for dunno what replenishment or what.

my sister told me that
i dreamtalk/sleeptalk...
huh??????

According to her,
i screamed or shouted or said AHHhh when sleeping.

she must be lying.

and my memory is REally failing.
its painful to think of what i thought like one second ago.
sometimes i have to go back to the same place, do the same thing, and then finally recall what is the thing that im supposed to go get.
and the same goes when i wake up in the morning.
its hard to recall what i dreamt. esp when the stupid alarm vibrates and scared me.

i think im living in fear.

and this week is spent webcasting lect.
a 2hr lecture can sometimes take me 4 hours.
people think that i run to youtube.
ya, that was the past.
now i run to toilet and bed.
coz the headache can get very unbearable.
toilet is to vomit, bed is to lie.

and because of this webcast thing,
my opp cost was obviously youtube, tv show and sleep.
was mostly webcasting before sleeping
ended up cant fall asleep.
and sometimes even hear weird noise.
im scared.
i guess its due to the finals.
but i know there are many many many other factorstts bothering me.

and within the 2 days,
board 3 wrong buses.
it is fun.
it wasnt scary, because i 'm not rushing for time, and that i know i will land up at somewhere.
but i still think that it wrote clementi station instead of clemeti stadium...
wait till i check it out.

i still need to fight.
